Ms. Douglas is Policy Director for the National Center for Primary Care and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Community Health and Preventive Medicine at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA. She received her law degree from Georgia State University. She received a BS in Biology from Virginia Tech.
She studies how laws and other policies can be used to advance health equity. She has worked on issues related to health care quality, HIV/AIDS discrimination, racial and ethnic health disparities, mental illness, neurodevelopmental disabilities, health information technology, and LGBTQ health disparities. Her research has been published in the American Journal of Public Health, Psychiatric Services, and Journal of Health Care for the Poor and Underserved. She teaches medical students, residents and community leaders how to advocate for evidence-based health policies. She has been a contributor to Policy Prescriptions® since 2012.
