Health Policy Twitterati 2015

It’s that time of year again for our annual Health Policy Twitterati List.

Each year we compile a list of the individuals and organizations providing the most important tweets related to health policy. This year has seen a huge shakeup – the crew of the Incidental Economist (Austin Frakt, Adrianna McIntyre, Aaron Carroll, and Bill Gardner) have all exited the list to make room for several new entrants. We encourage you to follow these individuals and organizations as they have proved to be an exceptional resource to those wanting to stay abreast of the latest topics relevant to the .

As for organizations, the Commonwealth Fund and the American Medical Association grace the list for the first time. Commonwealth is of special distinction as it had the greatest number of important tweets this year of all those making the list.

Several news sources and journals made the list this year. The Hill Healthwatch and the Journal of Health Politics, Policy, and Law join the Twitterati for the first time. In addition to them we include our award-winning partner Emergency Medicine News. This publication reaches 30,000+ emergency physicians and 12,000+ via Twitter. As a partner syndicating our health policy lit reviews, we love seeing them make the Twitterati list. Lastly, you must follow Dan Diamond*, the Executive Editor of the Advisory Board’s Daily Briefing. I had the pleasure of meeting him during the great lime shortage of 2014 while having dinner with him and another member of the list.  Dan’s tweets keep us all current on what is happening within health reform.

The remainder of the list for this year is populated by four of our own contributors. We encourage you to follow Kyle Fischer, Vidya Eswaran, Seth Trueger, and May Nguyen.  You will stay abreast of topics like #FOAMed, coffee, social justice, public health, wellness, gun safety and women’s health…and of course health policy (as it pertains to clinicians) simply by following these four.

*Dan joins Austin Frakt and Sarah Kliff as part of our Twitterati Hall of Fame for making the list 3 years in a row.
