Vidya Eswaran, MD is an emergency physician and fellow in the National Clinician Scholars Program at the University of California, San Francisco.

She completed her undergraduate degree in Biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and received her M.D. from Baylor College of Medicine – where she first became involved with PolicyRx. She then moved to Chicago for her residency training in emergency medicine at Northwestern McGaw Medical Center, where she served as Chief Resident before moving to San Francisco. She is currently enrolled in UCSF’s Master’s Program in Clinical Research. She has served on, and held leadership positions in, multiple committees within the Emergency Medicine Resident’s Association and the American College of Emergency Physicians.

Her research and advocacy interests include care for incarcerated populations, improving the emergency department environment for those with mental illness, and advancing equity within and beyond the health care setting.
